Help
When something goes wrong, your companion tells you in a line of their own, and a bar at the top of the settings window says what to do. The Test page in the settings window checks the microphone, the voice, the AI and the game in one go.
Your companion doesn't answer
- The key is not accepted: make a new key on the AI service's website, paste it on the AI services page and click Save. It is checked at once.
- No credit left: add credit on the AI service's website.
- Your spending limit is reached: that is your companion's own limit, there to stop surprise bills. Raise it in the settings, or wait for the next session or month.
- No internet: check that websites open in your browser. Your companion comes back by themselves when the connection does. A VPN, firewall or antivirus can also block the connection.
Their voice sounds different
When the chosen voice stops working (often no internet), Windows' own voice takes over, so you still hear your companion. The usual voice comes back by itself.
Your companion doesn't hear you
- Windows may block the microphone: in Windows settings, under Privacy & security, Microphone, turn on access for desktop apps.
- Check that the right microphone is picked on the Microphone & push-to-talk page.
Your companion doesn't see the game
- Install the addon on the Game page, and check that it is ticked under AddOns on the character screen.
- Show the game's interface (Alt+Z), and turn off Windows HDR and Night Light.
Your companion is not on stream
Add the address from the On screen page as a Browser source in your streaming app, as big as your whole canvas.
Still stuck?
The Test page can save a report (the logs and versions, never your keys). Send it to [email protected] with a few words about what happened.
